Tony Morrison born Chloe Ardelia Wofford, is an American editor, professor, and novelist. Morrison received a B.A degree in English from Howard University in 1953. She released her first novel, The Bluest Eye in 1970. Morrison would go on to publish many award-winning novels such as Sula, Song of Solomon, and Tar Baby. She also became the first African American woman to receive The Nobel Peace prize in Literature in 1993.
