Johnny Ford

Johnny Ford, a native of Alabama, was elected mayor of Tuskegee in September 2004 and 2012. He also served as mayor from 1972-1996. Ford graduated from Tuskegee Institute High School. He received a bachelor's in History and Sociology from Knoxville College and a master's in Public Administration from Auburn University at Montgomery. Ford also holds five honorary doctorate degrees. In 1998, Ford was elected as a state representative until he was re-elected mayor of Tuskegee in September 2004. Ford is the founder of the World Conference of Mayors, Inc., and also serves as president of Johnny Ford and Associates, Inc. He is president emeritus and founder of the National Conference of Black Mayors, Inc. Ford also chairs the National Policy Alliance, which is headquartered in Washington DC.
